Curtis Smallwood et al. v. Collier Enterprises et al. (Naples, FL 2005)

Don Russo, P.A. achieves confidential settlement on behalf of 65 clients with Collier Corporation in a case involving alleged sickness caused by a 3000-gallon chemical spill at a creosote treatment plant in the 1950's. Don Russo alleged that the spill of creosote (a chemical used to waterproof telephone poles) migrated into the drinking water supply of a small town of residents in Jerome, FL, causing cancer and other illnesses. Don Russo, P.A. employed world experts in toxicology, hydrology, chemistry, and epidemiology to conduct extensive scientific testing which was used to help prove the underground and surface migration of the chemical.

Pringle v. Florida Hospital et al. (Orlando, FL 2005)

Don Russo, P.A. achieves $13.5 million dollar settlement with hospital and maternal fetal specialists for severe brain injuries suffered by an unborn baby during pregnancy. Don Russo was able to demonstrate a failure on the part of the maternal fetal physicians to follow the fetus with ultrasonography, a procedure that would have detected blood clots in the placenta and prevented brain injury to the baby. The alleged negligence of failure to monitor with ultrasonography had never been litigated in Florida prior to this case.

Maseda v. Baptist Hospital (Miami, FL 2006)

Don Russo, P.A. settles medical negligence case for widow against hospital and doctors for $1.1 million dollars for the wrongful death of her husband caused by misdiagnosis of a heart condition.
